Mari Ichihashi was born in Nagoya (Japan) in 1997. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, she has been living in Mannheim since 2021, where she studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts under Prof. Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy. She completed her master’s degree at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and. Over the years, she has attended numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned pianists and teachers, including Hiroko Nakamura, Michael Krist Meister, Boris Petrushansky, Victor Rosenbaum, Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy, Gerrit Zitterbart and Ichiro Nodaira. Mari Ichihashi’s most recent successes include 1st prize at the International Music Competition in Verona 2022 and 2nd prize at the 24th Pietro Argent Piano Competition 2022.
